"We will never stop fighting against GOP efforts to eliminate protections for people with pre-existing conditions or their plan to allow insurance premiums to skyrocket, especially for seniors," Dillon said.

The Michigan Democratic Party and Indivisible groups around the state are teaming up for a series of town halls as the debate over how to change the nation's health care system continues in Congress. 

Starting this weekend, Democrats and local Indivisible groups are kicking off a summer long series of public events on health care policy featuring health experts, members of Congress and state lawmakers. The kickoff events on Sunday will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Plymouth-Ann Arbor Elks Lodge, 41700 Ann Arbor Road E., Plymouth, and 4-6 p.m. at Wildwood Amphitheater, 2700 Joslyn Court, Orion Township.

Oakland 8th District Convention

Our meeting will be in the James Ingram Room in the Adult section of the library.
We will elect members to three MDP State Convention committees and receive/approve any resolutions to forward to the Resolutions Committee. In order to vote, you must be a member of the Michigan Democratic Party for 30 days prior to this convention, unless you were elected Precinct Delegate in August, 2016 - in that case you can join the MDP as late as the day of the convention.

NODC Summer Picnic

Sat. July 29 4 pm – 8 pm – NODC Annual Summer Picnic, this year at the home of Fred and Nancy Miller, 875 N Baldwin Rd, Oxford, Mi 48371 Food, Fun, and Candidates!  

Adults $10 each, Children under 18 $5 each, Please bring a dish to pass, NODC will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, soft drinks, water

Also, please bring a donation for our ongoing support of the Oxford/Orion FISH Food Pantry
