Stop Asian Hate

I am sick at heart. The horrific murders in Atlanta underscore what we've been seeing across the country: hate crimes across the board rising to sickening all-time highs, with those targeting Asian Americans up more than 150 percent in major cities in the last year. Not surprisingly, the majority are directed toward Asian women.

Doctors Call on GOP to stop holding COVID Vaccine Funds

This is a prime and disgusting example of elections having dire consequences. Last November Democrats celebrated one the most consequential victories in the history of presidential elections -- and Michigan was instrumental in delivering that huge win. But we fell sorely short with our own state legislature and couldn't manage to flip the Michigan House; Republicans have a narrow four-seat majority there and an even slimmer three-seat majority in the State Senate. So this is what we get.

International Women's Day

On International Women's Day, I'm asking you to take two minutes to watch this amazing video of Amanda Gorman reciting her poem "Vital Voices." She's absolutely brilliant, beautiful and captures the essence of everything this day means -- and the radiant power within every one of us to change and challenge our world for the better.

MLK Jr. Day

Dr. King famously said, "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." His words implored us all in 1968 -- not long before he made the ultimate sacrifice -- and speak to us urgently now: It's up to us to bend it, and we have a long way to go. He was not saying that justice is assured no matter what, that it will come as long as we're patient. If the last four years -- four hundred for that matter -- have taught us anything, it's that we must constantly reckon with racism and eventually eradicate its roots. Nothing less. So don't rest.
