OCDP Chair Jody Job Releases a Statement Criticizing Meshawn Maddock’s Comments Against Mask Mandates
Oakland County, Michigan– In a recent statement, Oakland County resident and MIGOP Co-chair Meshawn Maddock encouraged parents to reach out to local school administrators and speak out against mask mandates.
OCDP Chair Jody Job has released the following statement in response:
"Meshawn Maddock's behavior is unconscionable. She continues to use human life as a disposable pawn to score political points with a base that seems unable to understand the gravity of a pandemic that has taken more than 20,000 souls in Michigan and nearly 625,000 in the U.S.
"She's shouting 'fire' in a crowded theater, and this time the theater is full of children -- our most vulnerable, most in need of protection -- and most in need of sane adults who advocate for their best interests.
"It's criminal to deliberately mislead, misinform and encourage parents to ignore science and public health guidelines and tell them to fight mask requirements, which are a simple, proven measure that saves lives and helps prevent transmission. It's not only delusional, it's deadly advice -- and lives will be lost because of her and her party's insane insistence on a warped definition of freedom from common sense and morality."
