Rochester Area Democratic Club Monthly Meeting
Because of the continuing Coronavirus quarantine, the December RADC monthly membership meeting will be held online, on Zoom. Our guest speaker will be Dr. David Dulio, of Oakland University, who will present us with an election analysis.

January Membership Meeting - 11th Congressional District Democratic Party

Kick-off 2021 by hearing from some very important people. We will hear from MDP Chair Lavora Barnes, Former MDP Chair Mark Brewer, Project 83 Organizer Mona DeQuis, and Fems for Dems.
Greater Royal Oak Dems Meeting
Our guest speaker will be Dr. Kevin Deegan-Krause, Associate Professor of Political Science at Wayne State University. Dr.Deegan-Krause will explain how ranked choice voting could strengthen our democracy. Previously, Dr. Deegan-Krause helped lead the successful "Voters Not Politicians" effort to win redistricting reform in Michigan.
We will elect 2021 officers at our January meeting on Saturday, January 2nd, 10am: Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. You must be a dues-paying member to vote or run in this election. You can pay your dues this month to count towards 2021. Dues remain $10 per person this year.
The newly-elected chair will have the option of appointing members to our club board. If you are interested in serving on the club board in 2021 you can reply to this email, or you can inform the 2021 chair after the January meeting. The club board meets as needed to plan and execute all club events.
Southfield Lathrup Village Democratic Club Meeting

Now it’s time to prepare for the Troy Dem Club (TDC) Officers Election coming up on January 28, 2021. Our club works best when everyone gets involved, so members with any amount of experience in the club – from old hands to brand newbies – are welcomed and encouraged to run for office. Love the club? Wish we did things differently? Become an officer to decide our future direction!
To run for office, and to vote, you need to have been a member of both the TDC and the Michigan Dem Party (MDP) for at least 30 days.
As of today, you may pay for a new TDC membership, or renew your current one, and that will carry over through December of 2021.

Why not do it today and be done with it?
There are nine officer positions. They are two-year terms. They meet once per month.
Chair – plans and runs meetings, including booking guests, and appoints committee chairs, also attends monthly MDP Chairs meetings
Vice Chair – runs meetings when chair is absent and follows the direction of the chair
The Chair and Vice Chair should be different genders, per club bylaws
Treasurer – keeps the club's financial records in good order
Corresponding Secretary -communicates from the executive committee to the membership and potential new members
Recording Secretary – records minutes at the executive board and membership meetings
Four Trustees – attend Executive Board meetings and each has a vote in the decision-making process
The four Trustees should be balanced by genders, per club bylaws
