Click here to view the amendments that the Rules & Bylaws Committee has recommended and that the Executive Committee will vote on at the 2/9/21 meeting.

Pending the approval of the amendments to Bylaws Article VII, Section 2, Sub-Sections 7, 8, and 9 regarding Standing Committees, the Executive Committee will then vote to approve the nominations of Committee Chairs. Jody LaMacchia, OCDP Chair, will nominate the following individuals as Committee Chairs if the Standing Committees are approved:

• Mikal Goodman - Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee

• Cheryl Blanton-Hermann - Community Support Committee

• Caprice Jackson - Young OCDP Committee

Each individual will introduce themselves before the Executive Committee will vote on their nomination.

The finalized agenda and minutes will be sent to all registered individuals on the day of the meeting.

9th Congressional District Convention

The 9th Congressional District Convention will convene virtually at 10:00am on Saturday, February 6 via Zoom. Registration will begin today and continue until 9:30am on the morning of the convention. You must register prior to the deadline in order to vote at the convention. The purpose of this convention will be to elect members and alternates to each of the three convention committees for the Michigan Democratic Party's 2021 Spring Convention on February 20th: Rules, Resolutions, and Credentials, and to consider resolutions to be forwarded to the State Party.

Article IV Sections B & C of the MDP Rules stipulate the following qualifications for candidacy and eligibility to vote:

• In order to hold Party office or vote at any Convention, Caucus, or meeting at any unit of the Michigan Democratic Party at any level, a person must be a member of the Michigan Democratic Party for at least thirty (30) days prior to that Convention, Caucus, or meeting. A Party member must be a qualified elector in order to vote on nominations for public office.
• However, Precinct Delegates, Democratic elected officials, and Democratic nominees to partisan office must be member in order to vote and may join the same day as the Convention, Caucus, or meeting.Precinct Delegates, Democratic elected officials, and Democratic nominees to partisan offices are exempt from the thirty (30) days advance membership requirement.

Because of the continuing Coronavirus quarantine, the January RADC monthly membership meeting will be held online, on Zoom. Our guest speaker will be Oakland County Executive Dave Coulter.

With fond memories of our in-person Club meetings at Miguel's Cantina, many of us are ordering a carryout dinner from the restaurant to enjoy during the meeting and show support for this local business. Over the years, Miguel's has always welcomed our group, and provided us with many tasty and healthy meals. Let's show our appreciation and signal that we will be back just as soon as it is safe for us to hold in-person meetings again.
