March is Food and Agriculture Month here in Michigan. Besides working with farmers, the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development works with and supports consumers and businesses across our district and state. In fact, the Michigan Department of Agriculture provides over 11 different types of grants ranging from fund for animal shelters and county fairs to grants for small businesses looking to develop value-added agricultural processing or expand access to healthy food, including farm markets, urban agriculture and hoop houses.
