MDP Nominating Convention - Sunday
The Democratic Electors of the State of Michigan are hereby notified that by direction of the Democratic State Central
Committee, the 2018 State Nominating Convention of the Michigan Democratic Party will be held at Breslin Center in East
Lansing on Saturday, August 25 and Sunday, August 26 2018. The purpose of this convention shall be to adopt the
two-year platform, resolutions, and to nominate candidates for the offices of Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary
of State, State Supreme Court, State Board of Education, and three State University Boards.
In order to vote at the State Convention, a person other than a Precinct Delegate, Democratic elected official or Democratic
nominee to partisan office must be a member of the Michigan Democratic Party at least thirty (30) days prior to August 25,
2018, or by July 26, 2018. Precinct Delegates, Democratic elected officials, and Democratic nominees to partisan office are exempt
from the advance membership requirement, but must join or renew on or before August 25, 2018. Persons whose memberships
are current as of July 26, 2018 but which expire before August 25, 2018 are eligible to vote if they renew on or before
August 25, 2018. All convention delegates must be registered and qualified electors in the State of Michigan.
