Juneteenth in the WB
This community-wide event commemorating Juneteenth National Freedom Day will take place Saturday, June 19, from 10 – 12 a.m. at West Bloomfield High School. Sponsored by the West Bloomfield/Lakes Area Democratic Club, the program includes storytelling, music, displays by local artists and refreshments. Juneteenth celebrates the final emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the United States, on June 19, 1865, and recognizes strength, endurance and faith of African American ancestors. Free and open to the public, and all State and local Covid-19 protocols will be followed.
