Many of us gather at 6:30 to order dinner. The meeting begins at 7:00. Monthly meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at Miguel's Cantina.

Rochester Area Club

Thursday, Jan 09, 2020 - 02:01 pm

Our January meeting of the Rochester Area Democratic Club will take place Thursday, January 9, at Miguel's Cantina, 870 Rochester Rd, Rochester Hills (W. side of Rochester Rd, a bit north of Avon). The meeting starts at 7pm, but many Democrats gather at 6:30pm to order what they would like to eat during the meeting. It helps the wait staff if you pay with cash so they don't have to make so many trips to tables for a group as large as ours.

Our guest speaker will be the current Oakland County Executive Dave Coulter who is running for re-election this year.

Our January meeting will also include an election for an Officer-at-Large from Oakland Township. The Nominations Committee has recommended Lisa Kiefer for this position and she has accepted the opportunity. Additional nominations may be made from the floor by the membership. But, keep in mind that our by-laws state that "in no case shall any member be nominated who has not been a RADC member in good standing for at least 30 days immediately preceding the meeting." In addition, this Officer must be an elected Precinct Delegate from Oakland Township.

Since this is an election meeting, please sign in near the beverage bar in the southwest corner of the room to receive an election card for voting. Those who can vote have been members in good standing at least 30 days immediately preceding this January meeting.

We look forward to working with you and hope to see you at the meeting.

Rochester Area Club Holiday Party

Sunday, Dec 08, 2019 - 08:12 am

Facebook Event Page

This year, our Rochester Area Democratic Club holiday party will take place Sunday December 8, 2019, 1-4 pm, at the beautiful handicap-accessible Rivercrest Banquet Center on the Northeast corner of Avon and Livernois, Rochester Hills.

Because our September picnic was not a fundraiser (as it has been in past years), the holiday party will be our fundraiser this year. Attendees at the holiday party will be treated to a delicious buffet style meal inclusive of several entrees (vegetarian too), salads, sides, coffee, tea, pop, juice, and dessert. Our room will also be decorated in a holiday theme where you will have an opportunity for a relaxing visit with other RADC friends and members. You might even want to dress up a bit. : ) Perhaps most importantly, we are expecting several high-profile elected officials and candidates to attend the party.

All of this for a donation of only $38/person. This will cover our cost for the food and beverages and provide the Club with a little extra in order that we will have funds for Club expenses and to donate to worthy candidates. Check-in will be from 1-1:30 pm, and food will be out no later than 1:30 pm.

The deadline for signing up for the holiday party is November 30, 2019. Therefore, if you plan to attend, we need you to do the following as soon as possible: (i) complete the form below, (ii) prepare a check for the appropriate amount, payable to the Rochester Area Democratic Club, and (iii) send your check and completed form to--

Eva Cantarella, Sec. RADC
2129 Clinton View Circle
Rochester Hills, MI 48309

You will also have an opportunity at the holiday party to renew your membership, if needed ($5), and to acquire a RADC t-shirt for an additional $20 donation. Please bring your checkbook, as we are legally prohibited from accepting cash donations over $20.

RADC Annual Picnic and Membership Drive

Sunday, Sep 20, 2015 - 09:09 am to 11 am
Dear Rochester Area Democrats,

Our twenty-first annual Family Picnic in the Park promises to be a great one.  It will be Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 1-3 pm at the same location as last year--the Kiwanis Pavilion in the Rochester Municipal Park, which is off Pine Street near the corner of Rochester Road and University and behind the Municipal and Police Building over the bridge.  All food and beverages provided by the RADC.

We are delighted to have Democratic Leader Tim Greimel from the Michigan House of Representatives and Melissa Gilbert, candidate for the 8th Congressional District, as our special guests. We have all been proud of Tim's achievements as an elected official who began his rise to leadership in the Rochester area. You may have heard about Melissa's candidacy recently. She was the star of the Little House on the Prairie television show as a child.  She has served two terms as President of the Screen Actor's Guild and has served as Vice President of the AFL-CIO Executive Council. Melissa will be a high profile candidate in the next election.  Other elected officials and candidates have been invited as well.

Invite friends and guests to the picnic, as this is a great time to engage those who share our progressive values and ideals to organize around issues and campaigns.  The attached flyer contains additional details.  You may also call 248-656-8891 for further information.

We look forward to seeing you at the picnic!
