LANSING – As Terri Lynn Land counts down the minutes until she can pander with D.C. special interests, Democratic County Chairs from across the state are calling on her to cancel her Washington D.C. fundraiser since she hasn’t held a single public campaign event in Michigan. Chairs spanning from Grand Traverse County to Jackson are all urging Land to come to their county and explain why she thinks re-opening the government was, “a mistake.” Ms. Land’s Tea Party shutdown is estimated to have cost Michigan hundreds of millions of dollars.

“RNC Committeewoman Terri Lynn Land thinks it’s a better use of her time to fundraise in D.C. than hold a single public campaign event in Michigan,” said  Joshua Pugh, Michigan Democratic Party Communications Director. “Families all across Michigan deserve to know why Terri Lynn Land thinks it’s wise to stand with the D.C. Tea Party, but a mistake to re-open the government even though it cost us millions. Democratic County Chairs  demand Terri Lynn Land cancel her event with D.C. special interests and explain Michiganders why she thinks she can buy this seat and sell out our middle class.”

Land is in Washington, D.C. today pandering to the special interests and Washington Insiders who shut down the government and cost Michigan taxpayers millions of dollars.

But why does Land have time to fundraise in D.C. when she’s never held a single public event from her campaign in Michigan? In June, Land promised to start a listening tour and even said she couldn’t effectively campaign for Senate without two full Michigan summers. But Land’s listening tour never even got off the ground.

The only thing we know about Terri Lynn Land is that she still thinks it is a mistake to have re-opened the government – even though Land’s Tea Party shutdown cost Michigan taxpayers millions.
