An overflow crowd gave Barack Obama a thunderous OC welcome
at his Economic Town Hall in Farmington Hills September 8.  John Ashcraft with Barack ObamaObama answered right into the needs of a community that has been hit
hard by Bush economics.  Troy resident John Ashcraft introduced

Obama Lays out his message - 'That's
change'

Hathaway endorsed for
Michigan Supreme Court

Judge Diane M. Hathaway, was endorsed by the Michigan Democratic
Convention as a candidate for Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court. As with all
judicial races, her name will appear on the Non-Partisan section of the ballot
on November 4.  Remember to flip your ballot and vote in the nonpartisan
races.

Under Clifford Taylor's leadership, the Michigan Supreme Court
has built a reputation of protecting wealthy corporations and special interests
at the expense of middle-class families.  This is demonstrated by Taylor's
record of siding with insurance companies and corporate interests more than 80
percent of the time.

In 2008, Taylor was named the worst judge out of seven on the
court in a survey of Michigan lawyers who argue cases in front of the Supreme
Court, also rating him the least knowledgeable and least prepared judge on the
court.  We deserve better and that is why I am running for Supreme Court.

Taylor's decisions put the insurance companies and corporate
special interests that fund his campaigns ahead of struggling middle-class
families. He repeatedly sacrifices judicial ethics and ignores the severe human
impact of his decisions while enjoying one of the highest salaries and packages
of taxpayer-provided perks of any judge in the country. Taylor's decisions have
made it easier for sexual predators, terrorists and drunk drivers to avoid
responsibility for their crimes. He also has a pattern of discriminatory
decisions that hurt women in the workplace, including ruling against victims in
rape and sexual harassment cases, virtually eliminating the ability to legally
enforce protection from sexual harassment.

Known for her hard work and integrity, Hathaway will restore
fairness and impartiality to the Michigan Supreme Court. As a Circuit Court
Judge, she has a record of being fair and impartial, putting the needs of
ordinary citizens and families over those of big corporations and special
interests. As a prosecutor, Hathaway took on drug dealers, put hardened
criminals in jail, and kept Michigan's neighborhoods safe by going after drunk
drivers, sexual predators and scam artists. A wife, mother of five and daughter
of a police officer, she is endorsed by law enforcement and
firefighters.
