           On
May 22 Chairman John Conyers and the House Judiciary Committee issued a
subpoena for former White House political advisor, Karl Rove.
Congressman Conyers will be addressing this important issue when he
keynotes the Oakland County Democratic Party Rule of Law reception May
29

Rove has been the focus of the case in Alabama
involving former Governor Don Siegelman, who claims he was the target
of a politically motivated prosecution spearheaded by Rove.  Siegelman,
who spent 6 months in prison, was released after a source came forward
claiming Rove unduly influenced the prosecution for political reasons.

 “This
case looks like a perfect example of the rule of law gone awry.  We’re
excited to have Judiciary chairman Conyers addressing this case which
has just exploded on the national scene.  This case could be even
bigger than Watergate,” said Oakland County Democratic Party Chair,
Dave Woodward. Click here for full story.
