OCDP ON THE ROAD  Summer 2008

61 Community Program Patterned After DNC’s
50-State Strategy

Great Volunteer Opportunity to serve in ‘08

OCDP On the Road is set to launch its
2008 season.  Emboldened by Democratic victories that swept across
Michigan and the country in 2006 and 2007, we’ll be visible and carrying our
message throughout the county, turning Oakland County "Democratic
blue" and winning elections where Democrats had previously not made
serious challenges.

The OCDP on the Road Program is a group of volunteers who march in
parades and staff our Oakland Dems’ booth at festivials and events throughout
the county.  In 2007 we interfaced with tens of thousands of
citizens.  What enthusiastic support we met!  This year will only be
even better!

OCDP On the Road works together with Democratic campaigns
and local Democratic Club groups to support area, county-wide, US House, US
Senate and the Presidential campaigns.  It’s all stops out time!

Individuals can choose their locations
and their assignments – from holiday parades to Arts, Beats and Eats, Dream
Cruise, Motor City Pride Festival, fireworks in
Rochester, and town and city summer festivals of
various types.  It’s a great way of getting out there in support of Democratic
values and truly making a difference in 2008.

OCDP On the Road’s KICK-OFF EVENT:

CELEBRATE BIRMINGHAM PARADE May 18

Join the parade Sunday, May 18 in Birmingham!   OCDP will be joining many
other organizations, individuals, schools and groups for this event which says
“thank you” to
Birmingham for its support.  A large turnout is expected.

This is the annual kick-off to the City
of
Birmingham’s summer events.  The theme this
year is “City of
Birmingham - 75th  Anniversary Celebration”.

The Parade begins at 1:00PM in downtown Birmingham.  For people who want to stay on
after the parade, the will be a Celebration in the Park, held at
Shain Park from 1:00PM – 4:00PM.  Activities include:  children’s activities, petting farm,
giant inflatable activities, entertainment, classic car display, food vendors,
