Fourth of July Events where you can

Support our Candidates! 

Join Senator Carl Levin and Congressman Sandy Levin as they march in three parades!  All
marchers in any of the parades will be given a Levin t-shirt for
participating.  Transportation will be available for people who want to
participate in all three parades (including return to Huntington Woods
or
Clawson from the Oak Park parade). You may join the individual parades at the following times and places:

Clawson:  Please arrive no later than 8:30 AM.  Staging area: Clawson Center (14 Mile and Crooks).  Parade ends in the city park on Elmwood.  
Huntington Woods:
  Please arrive no later than 9:30 AMStaging area: Chase Bank at 26363 Woodward Ave, just north of the Zoo.  Parade travels down Salem/Nadine to Wyoming to Borgman to Scotia to Scotia Park.         

Oak Park:  Arrive no later than 10:30 AM. Staging area:  9 Mile and Coolidge.  Parade ends at Shepard Park on Park Blvd.

Join 9th District U.S. Congressional Candidate Gary Peters at July 3 and 4 events in Clawson!

July 3 and 4: the Clawson Carnival!  Volunteer
at the Gary Peters & OCDP On the Road  booth at the Clawson
Carnival located in Elmwood Park in the heart of the city of Clawson. 
Come out and support Carl Levin, Gary Peters, and the Oakland County
Dream Team.  The booth is open on July 3rd from 3pm until 9pm, and July
4th from 11am – 10pm.  Join us immediately after the carnival for
fireworks in the park.

July 4:  Parade!  Meet
no later than 8:30 AM at the Clawson Shopping Center on the corner of
14 Mile Rd. and Crooks in downtown Clawson.   Change in Washington
begins with your help!

Join the North Oakland Democratic Club for the Independence Day Parade and Festival of Fun in Clarkston.  Volunteers
will be supporting Dem candidates including Senator Levin and
countywide candidates for Executive, Treasurer, Prosecutor, Sheriff,
etc.  Some t-shirts will be provided by candidates, otherwise, bring
your candidate or OCDP t-shirt if you already have one.  Parade walkers
will help carry banners and hand out individual pieces of candy to
children.

Clarkston Independence Day Parade starts
10:00 AM and ends prior to Noon.
Staging area:  St. Daniel Church,
7010 Valley Park Dr, Clarkston (near corner of Miller Rd and
Holcomb Rd).
People are encouraged to park where the parade ends at Clarkston Renaissance School
6300 Church St and call for a ride to the parade start.  The parade is about 1.5  miles (2.5 k) from start to finish.

Festival of Fun
10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
After the parade, join us at the Independence Twp Festival of Fun, located at Clintonwood
Park, 6000 Clarkston Rd (west of Sashabaw Rd).  We will have a booth during the day from 10 AM to 5 PM.  All candidates welcome.  Parking at the event is $5 and free for those who park at Clarkston High School, 6093 Flemings Lake Rd (one mile away).  A free shuttle between the Park and Clarkston High School is provided.

Join Candidate for the Dist 7 Oakland County Commission Pam Jackson in Milford for a parade in Milford.  She’ll
have t-shirts for you to wear and you’ll be handing things out.  A
great show of people at the parade helps it all over the edge.

Time:  Arrive no later than 9:45Main Street closes off at 10.  Parade starts at 11am.

OCDP On the Road
is a team of volunteers, all members of the Oakland County Democratic
Party, who join together with Democratic campaigns and local Democratic
Clubs to support local, county-wide,
State, US House, US
Senate and the Presidential campaigns.  Individuals choose their times,
locations, and assignments.  The 2008 events range from holiday parades
and fireworks events to town and city summer and fall festivals of
various types.  It includes large venues like the Woodward Dream Cruise
and Arts, Beats and Eats.  Most events are on the weekends.  It’s a
great way for YOU to make a difference in this exciting election year!
