Amy Chapman to head Obama's Michigan Campaign

Barack Obama's campaign has named Amy Chapman, a veteran Michigan
political official with close ties to organized labor, to head its
Michigan campaign.

Chapman is a Madison Heights resident with significant experience in
Michigan and national campaigns. She is a former head of political
campaigns for the AFL-CIO and a former director of Midwest political
operations for the Service Employees International Union.

June 26 Forum in Troy
  

The Berkley,
Royal Oak Area & Troy Democratic Clubs along with the Justice
Caucus will host a forum about the Nov 4 Judicial non-partisan ballot.
The program will feature a panel of distinguished guests who will
discuss the importance of the judicial ballot & then answer your
questions.

Panel members include:  Attorney
Cameron Getto with McKeen & Associates; Attorney Jay Kaplan with
the ACLU Michigan GLBT Project; Attorney Rudy Serra, a former District
Judge; and Judge Deborah Thomas of the Wayne County Circuit Court. 
State Representative Marie Donigan, MI 26, will moderate.

The event is Thursday June 26 from 7 to 9 PM and will be held at the Troy Community Center, 3179 Livernois just north of Big Beaver, in Room 304 . Click here for more information.

SOUTHFIELD: MONDAY JUNE 23 “Star-Spangled Southfield Fireworks” at City Hall on the front lawn, 6:30 -10:30 PM   We’ll be working beside the Southfield/Lathrup Village Democratic Club for the “Star-Spangled Southfield Fireworks.”  

MADISON HEIGHTS: SUNDAY JUNE 29 “Pre-Fourth Festival in the Park” in Civic Center Park, 6 – 10:30 PM

ROCHESTER HILLS: TUESDAY JULY 1 “Rochester Festival of the Hills Fireworks” in Borden Park, 6 – 10:30 PM
