Michigan Voice - Volunteers needed for Election Protection

On Tuesday, November 6, the Michigan Election Policy Coalition plans to place volunteers at several polling locations throughout the state to monitor and, where possible, assist with the implementation of Michigan's new photo identification law.

We want to ensure that no voter is unnecessarily blocked from voting in the municipal elections, and also gather information on how the law affects voters on Election Day.

In order to do this, we need your help!  We need volunteers willing to spend a few hours on November 6 monitoring elections in the following cities: (Call for details)

Aside from spending some time at the polls on November 6 (at any time that is convenient for you), you will also need to attend a training on either Saturday November 3 (11am-1pm) in Pontiac, Michigan or Monday November 5 (6:00pm-8:00pm) in Detroit, Flint, and Southfield.  Further details on the training will be sent to those who RSVP.

If you are interested, please RSVP by sending an email to  jocelynbenson@yahoo.com or call 1-866-505-9158 and indicate your name, email or phone #, where you'd like to work, and which training you plan to attend.

Please also circulate this to your membership or anyone else who you think might be interested!
