Top Ten Questions for Republican Candidates at the Mackinac Conference

LANSING– Today Michigan Democratic Party Chair Mark Brewer released a top ten list of questions for Republican Presidential Candidates attending the Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference this weekend:

Mitt Romney, were you for abortion before you were against it?
Mitt Romney has flip-flopped on a litany of issues including abortion and stem cell research.

Fred Thompson, will Scooter Libby be the ethical model for your administration?
Fred Thompson served on the served on the advisory panel of his legal defense fund.

Rudy Giuliani, how many endorsements from “extremist” groups are you going to accept while on the Island?
Giuliani is trying to seek an endorsement from the NRA, a group he has called “extremist” in the past.

John McCain, is there anyone left in Michigan that supports your candidacy?
The conservative leaning Washington Times wrote an article titled: “McCain sees downward spiral in Michigan” after AG Mike Cox stepped down as Campaign Co-Chair last week.

Newt Gingrich, how many false statistics will you make up about Detroit Public Schools in your speech?
Newt Gingrich presented a number of false, damaging statistics about the state of Detroit Public Schools in August.

Mike Huckabee, how many more “dangerous” and “gimmick” pledges will you sign?
In a complete about face, Mike Huckabee announced that he would sign a no new taxes pledge. But conservatives may not be aware that prior to his announcement, Huckabee declared that such pledges were "dangerous" and were "gimmicks."
